A Good place to start - but not a place to end up. College students should not use this.

I agree, Brittany. But in high school, Wikipedia generates the need to use multiple sources for information. Students need to understand that aspect of research. This, of course, is an input issue.

As far as putting information out there, however, I like the idea of collaborative wiki projects. I thought our Newark Valley project was fun. It sustained our interest for well over an hour, and most of us had nothing to gain from the information we gathered. Students, on the other hand, have a great deal more to invest in a collaborative project using wiki technology. Anyone agree?

This just continues to show how important it is for our kids to know how to evaluate and support their sources....a skill we really never had to deal with as kids (speaking for my generation of course :)

I have included a similar article I read yesterday in Binghamton University's student newspaper. The president came out against it as well... Interesting reading.
